Do you ever have days where you just don't feel like opening up God's Word?

I do. And I remember one morning specifically when I was feeling this way. I was consumed by my to-do list and all the meetings I had lined up that day. I was tempted to believe that spending time on God's Word would just be a waste of time.

I begrudgingly opened up God's Word and my devotional that day providentially led me to Psalm 84. After reading it, I felt so seen by the Lord and I was immediately convicted.

"For a day in your courts is better
    than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of wickedness." (Psalm 84:10)

Here I was – consumed by the busyness of the world that I forgot how glorious and how good it is to sit before God's presence.

This Psalm reminded me that a day in His courts is:

better than sleep
better than the art studio
better than IG
better than my to-do list
better than work
better than a vacation
better than a thousand elsewhere

Psalm 84:10 is a short but powerful verse to meditate on. It reoriented my heart back to the Lord and reminded me that He is worthy of all our time, energy, and attention.
