DAY 64: 3 JOHN
“Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.” (3 John 1:11)
Dear Christian,
God gave each of us significance, meaning, and purpose when He created us.
God gave us hands to create, hands to build, hands to tend, hands to care for others. God gave us mouths to sing, mouths to pray, mouths to encourage, mouths to bless. God gave us our bodies and gave us dominion over the land and the seas, to watch over it and to cultivate it. He gave us a beautiful calling.
But often we get it wrong and end up hurting ourselves and others. God has given us a better way. When we imitate God, we find that we finally understand what it means to be truly human. And when we fail (because we inevitably would), we can rest on Christ’s finished work — knowing that when our sin is great, our Savior is even greater.
Friends, let us imitate our Savior who loves boldly and walks humbly before others.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22)
Love,
Patsy
