DAY 27: DANIEL
“but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action.” (Daniel 11:32b)
Dear Christian,
Stand firm and take action.
Daniel is a book about the Hebrew people living in exile. They were far from home, and instead of removing them from the situation they were in, God had other plans for them. They were to seek the good of the place where they were planted, although that city was not their ultimate home.
In the same way, though we are in the world we are not of the world. Our citizenship is in Heaven with Christ, but for a brief moment we are here. And God calls us, not to idly wait for His return, but to stand firm and take action, carrying out the mission of God as long as he has us here.
Let us not grow weary of living out our faith. Stand firm and act, like our brothers and sisters that have come before us.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)
Love,
Patsy
