DAY 37: HAGGAI
“Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the Lord. Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. Work, for I am with you, declares the Lord of hosts, according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not.” (Haggai 2:4-5)
Dear Christian,
The work of the Lord will prevail.
Let this be an encouragement to you that we have no power to thwart or sabotage the Lord’s plans. In the Bible we see God’s people fall deeper and deeper into a downward spiral, and we’re left guessing to see if God has finally had enough. But He is steadfast in His love for us.
Our God is sovereign and is in control of every moment. His purpose will always prevail. And by grace, the Lord invites us to join Him in building His kingdom here on earth as we wait for the new heavens and new earth to come. So work, build, restore, and redeem, relying not on your own strength, but depending on the Lord every step of the way. Watch and see what the Lord does.
Love,
Patsy
