DAY 58: HEBREWS

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” (Hebrews 11:8)

Dear Christian,

Trust God with the next step.

I have gone through seasons in my life that terrified me. My biggest fear? The unknown. Not knowing what comes next. But God has shown His grace and faithfulness to me again and again.

When I decided to study abroad for all 4 years, when I was undecided with my major for 2 years, when I didn’t know whether or not I was moving back to the Philippines or moving to a new city in the US where I barely knew anyone. When I decided to pursue a completely different career path.

During those moments of uncertainty, I clung on to these words in Hebrews where it says, “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” (Hebrews 11:8)

God was teaching me to trust Him. To take leaps of faith. To find security, not in the things of the world, but in Him alone. I was afraid, yes. He has taken me through the highest mountains and the deepest valleys and I’m still in the middle of that journey. But He assures us of an inheritance that can never be taken away from us. And because of that, I can trust Him and follow Him with my next step.
