DAY 19: PSALMS

“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!” (Psalm 95:1-2)

Dear Christian,

Sing to the Lord!

When I was becoming a Christian, one of the things that stood out to me at church was the worship of God’s people. Not the band, not the location, not even the preacher, but God’s people.

I had never seen so much genuine joy in how the people of God worshipped. I remember feeling baffled by this. What do they see that I don’t see?

It led me on my journey to seek the Lord and in the process I found out just how beautiful, gracious, merciful and kind He is. For the first time I understood grace and it is with no surprise how my heart felt like singing. 

“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” (Isaiah 61:10)
