DAY 47: 2 CORINTHIANS
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.” (2 Corinthians 4:7-10)
Dear Christian,
You carry incredible treasure.
You have a message that has power to bring hope, healing, and transformation to those who hear it. Although we feel weak, inadequate, or overwhelmed, it is in our weakness that the Lord shines the brightest. Like fragile jars of clay, our imperfections and limitations serve as a backdrop against which the surpassing power of God is displayed.
It is not because of our strength or abilities that make a difference but the power of the Holy Spirit working through us. Though we are afflicted in every way, we are not crushed; though we are perplexed, we’re not driven to despair. This is the power of Christ in you.
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
Though we live in broken and imperfect bodies, we carry truth that has power to save, power to heal, and power to transform. Praise be to God!
Love,
Patsy
