DAY 46: 1 CORINTHIANS
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:21)
Dear Christian,
Do you ever struggle with figuring out what God’s will is for your life?
Do you struggle between choosing one job from another? One house from another? One state from another?
I get it. I’ve felt that too. But I have found so much freedom in these words:
Simply put, the purpose of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. As John Piper puts it, “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.”
Instead of building a life striving after a moving target where success and contentment is always out of reach, God has given us a better way. In Christ, He has set us free from living a life of performance. On the cross when Christ said, “It is finished,” He secured for us eternity with the Father forever. And this eternity gives us boldness to act today knowing that our future is sure in Him, but it should also make us a humble people knowing that we needed Christ to die for eternity to be secured.
So let us walk boldly and humbly before the Lord. We have nothing to prove. Christ has given us freedom to enjoy the Lord and all His good gifts.
Love,
Patsy
