DAY 3: LEVITICUS

“Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.” (Leviticus 19:2)

Dear Christian,

Leviticus is filled with chapters about how to stay clean — it goes over washings, food restrictions, animal sacrifice, leprosy, and sin.

All this was written because God wanted to be close to His people. These laws were created so that the people can be in the presence of God. 

Because from Genesis 3, we learn that sin separates God from man. When sin came into the world, death came with it — as well as decay, disorder, disease, pain, and suffering.

A world of peace and harmony suddenly turned into a world of chaos.

But God did not leave us on our own.

In the world’s greatest act of love, He sent us His Son Jesus — to live the perfect and sinless life we failed to live and to die the death that we deserved. Jesus took all our sins, while we took on His righteousness. 

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Jesus died to make us holy and to make us lovely so that we can enjoy eternity with the Father forever. Praise the Lord!
