DAY 66: REVELATION

“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.” (Revelation 21:3)

Dear Christian,

Your future is brighter than you can imagine. 

When a plague hit the Roman Empire from AD 165 to 180, it took away as many as 5,000 lives per day. After two plagues about 30% of everyone living in the Roman Empire died. Christianity grew from 8% to nearly 50% during that time. When everyone fled the cities in fear of their lives, the Christians stayed put to care for the sick — knowing that death would only deliver them to Jesus.

I tell you this today because often we can get distracted by the cares and the impressive things of the world. FOMO is real and sometimes we worry that we’re not living our lives to the fullest. But the scripture has good news for us — the best is yet to come. And when it comes it will be glorious, beautiful, and absolutely wonderful. Everything sad will become untrue. We will be reconciled with God and tears, pain, and death will be no more. 

The whole Bible is a story of God pursuing man. In Revelation, we see a sweet picture when God finally dwells with His people and God Himself will be with them as their God — just how He has always intended it to be.
