DAY 12: 2 KINGS
“Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you.” (2 Kings 20:5-6)
Dear Christian,
The Lord hears your prayers.
Isn’t that absolutely amazing? We can speak to the Lord Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, the King of Kings, who is sovereign over all relationships, places, and situations. And He hears us and He acts.
Sometimes people argue and say, “Why pray? Why pray if God will just do what He wants?” And to that I say, if God isn’t sovereign, then why should we pray to him at all? We would be asking God to do something he’s incapable of doing.
So why not pray to a sovereign God? Knowing that God is sovereign should give us all the more confidence and joy knowing that
“…for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Lift up your prayers to the Lord and watch Him work.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
